Get your ripped tights,
oversized sweaters, and hairsprays for a much-awaited blast from the past. DMC
Entertainment, in cooperation with Okada Manila and Cove Manila, is set to
stage Back to the 80s: A New Wave Music Festival, on June 29.
Cove Manila, the premiere
indoor beach club and night club in the country, will take party-goers back in
the glorious days of 80s music. Set to perform are icons such as Clive
Farrington and Andrew Mann of When in Rome UK, Peter Coyle of the Lotus Eaters,
David Sterry of Real Life.
When in Rome UK’s The
Promise topped the dance charts in 1988, and those in the 80s party scene
definitely also sang along to their other chart hits like Heaven Knows, and
Child’s Play.
Peter Coyle last visit to
Manila was in 2017. The lead vocalist of the English band Lotus Eaters is
excited to light up the concert stage once again this year.
Australian group Real Life
was also a big success in the early 80s, with hits like Send Me An Angel, and
Catch Me I’m Falling.
Joining these international
acts are our renowned local bands The Dawn, Paranoid City, and Nursery Rhymes.
