The Philippine Robotics Olympiad (PRO), is a science, technology and educational event which aims to offer an opportunity for students to expand their horizons through exploration of robots and robotic systems in schools. The 17‘h Philippine Robotics Olympiad launching ceremonies will be held on June 14, 2018 from 1:00pm-5z00pm at the iCreate Cafe Manila, Expo Hall, Fisherman, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
The PRO partners with the Department of Education (DepEd) and Science Education InstituteDepartment of Science and Technology (DOST). The launch will highlight the winning entries of
the Philippine during the World Robot Olympiad 2017 held in Costa Rica. There will be Robotics demonstrations and testimonials from Robotic enthusiasts as well.

The PRO particrpants use LEGO Robotics which can be manipulated usmg an EV3 or NXT brick. a microcomputer that serves as the “brain" of Robolab inventions The particrpants also use computers to deSign a program with command icons. The Program is transferred to the EV3 brick Via wi-fi and the robots are commanded to move in various ways through designated field challenges.
This year, we expect over 800 public and private schools nationwide to participate in the national competition. The grand awardees will represent the Philippines in the World Robot Olympiad 2018 to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand on November 15-19, 2018. Fifty Seven (57) countries from all over the world join the World Robot Olympiad. The theme for this year “Food Matters”
The 17m Philippine Robotics Olympiad is supported by INTEL Education, Asia Pacific Colleges, INTECO ISUZU DEALERSHIPS, Astrotel, Fishermall, Microsoft , OMlZU Water, De La Salle
