Mart One’s Philippine Festival Dance Contest

Dance Away the Summer Heat With
Mart One’s Philippine Festival Dance Contest

Showcasing the rich dance culture of the Philippines, Mart One Department Store—a retail chain of The Expressions Company—is staging its “Philippine Festival Dance Contest” on April 29 at the Plaza Mayor de Balanga in Bataan, featuring the famous festival dances of various provinces in the country

The contest will feature the following festival dances: Ati-atihan (Aklan), Sinulog (Cebu), Dinagyang (Iloilo), Pintados (Leyte), Masskara (Bacolod), Panagbengga (Baguio), and Kadayawan (Davao). These will be performed by different dance groups that were pre-qualified during local screenings held in selected destinations where Mart One is present.
The local screenings were held at the following venues: Tuguegarao and Ilagan; Laoag, La Union, Baguio, and Vigan; Santiago, and Cauayan; and in Olongapo, Balanga, Pasay, and Guadalupe. Only one group per store will be chosen and will advance to the Grand Finals.

The winning dance group will take home PhP100,000.00 and will also receive PhP30,000.00 to be donated to the group’s chosen charity. Mart One will give out PhP8,000.00 and PhP2,000-worth of gift certificate as its consolation prizes, and Php10,000.00 and PhP3,000-worth of gift certificate for the voter’s choice award.

There will be in-store voting from April 10 to 25, wherein a PhP300 single receipt purchase is equivalent to one voting-raffle stub. Only one finalist’s name per voting-raffle stub is required. All votes will be counted, per store, with the supervision of a Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) representative.

Mart One was born out of the need of provinces for an urbanized shopping experience. It offers a wide range of affordable items in fashion, housewares, and health and beauty, among others.
